works in progress

here’s some stuff i’m working on :)

artifacts painting series

this is a series of 20 paintings of made up artifacts from a fictional civilization that never existed. the drawings are all done, and the color compositions are ready, so all that is left is to jump into the paintings. the paintings will be done with gouache on paper.

when the paintings are finished, i would like to compile them into a risograph zine documenting them, as well as a print. check out a sample of the drawings and color comps!

“the earth’s whisper” zine

i’m currently working on a new risograph zine containing my favorite iterations of the vine motif i have been working with over the last two years. some are flash designs and some are customs, but i’ll be adding color to each drawing as well as some poetry to accompany each drawing. here’s some layout stuff :)

new riso prints

this riso print is a collection of some sweet small guys that I like, with some nice soft colors! colors tbd but I will hopefully be printing them soon. I’m working on another

new zelda

tears of the kingdom finally came out. i’m a #big time gamer so i spent a ton of time in it. i took 3 days off work to play when it came out, and have been burning through it. i had my doubts about nintendo using the same map as the previous game, but it’s been a pleasure and i keep finding surprises as i explore.

the met cloisters

we took a day to head out to the met cloisters together, which is one of my all time nyc recommendations. it’s at the tippy top of manhattan, and we usually take the a train to 190th st and get out and go through the park there, fort tyron, which is super beautiful and offers wicked views of the hudson and palisades. the cloisters is a really cool and unique museum, as it’s made up of 5 medieval european cloisters that were bought by rockefeller and brought to nyc and mashed together into a frankenstein museum to house his medieval art collection. it’s now in care of the met and the art collection there is super unique. definitely recommend taking an afternoon and going up. the flowers in the park are in bloom late may - june too :)

bunny in bed stuy

bunny is a really tasty turkish/german restaurant on nostrand ave in bed stuy. my girlfriend selected it and i paused my game (zelda) to be there. we started with a really nice curry bratwurst which came with ketchup which i generally avoid. super tasty though. it wasn’t sugary like american ketchup. we then split the chicken schnitzel and the lamb kofte kebab which were both extremely bomb. the lamb kofte kebab was especially good. portions were mid sized and it seemed like a great place to go splitsies.
