march 2024
hello & thanks for subscribing to my newsletter! i’m back from my trip and back to regular newsletters. here’s a february recap, and some information for march and april
upcoming booking form
as a perk of subscribing to this newsletter, here is an early access link to my booking form for april. i’ll be closing this link, and opening my books to the public on march 10th, so make sure to fill out a form before then.
news flash its new flash
check out my new flash spread for march and onward :) available in b&w or color.

reminder: i do not hold/reserve flash, and i do not repeat flash. these designs are first come first serve. please have a look at my policies here if you need a refresher on my flash policies
cool tats from february
here’s just a few tats i did last month that i really resonated with, would love to do more like these. it was super fun to work with color on a few of these bad boys. i got to explore some shading techniques on the big thigh piece, and had a good time revisiting an old flash concept from our flash day last year.
four horsemen backpiece
me and tim started this backpiece a few days ago. we spent the first day lining the central image using a stencil, and then the second day working on the border using a freehanded design. we’re going to let this heal and pack the black in early april. super stoked about this one!
works in progress
here’s some stuff i’m working on :)
new website
i feel like it is time for me to build out a new website. i want a new home for my work that feels like it includes everything i do under one umbrella. additionally, my current website is hosted by wix, which is an israeli company, so it is important to me to divest in order to adhere to the bds movement in solidarity with the people of palestine.
for the time being, i am shutting down my webstore and focusing on this new site, which will be housed on cargo. this process takes time and i thought it would be a cool opportunity to update the look/design of my site as well. i’m hoping to have this finished within a couple weeks. have a lil peak below!

heaven ii
i’ve started working on the colors for heaven ii! have a look at a few pages below. i’m not 100% sure what color scheme i want to go with, what do you think?
i goofed up and didn’t get access to the print lab i use in time, so i am going to have to wait until summer to produce these bad boys. but be assured, they are coming!

pencil drawings
i’ve been trying to draw more with pencils this year. i want to explore the medium and expand my style to allow for more depth and complexity. anyways here’s a drawing and a wonky self portrait

sketchbook scans
here are some scans of sketchbook spreads from last month. mostly all are landscape drawings. couldn’t stop doing this in the national parks. nature is really cool!

upcoming events / guest spots
the secret door will be hosting a womens flash day on march 9th, all the artists are women or non binary. there will be music, merch, etc etc etc so come out and get a cool tattoo

i will only be tattooing in new york in march, but at the end of april i will be heading to london to tattoo for just a few days. keep your eyes peeled for more info! i will most likely be announcing and sending out the booking form in next month’s (april) newsletter.
cafe lulu
if you like the “patrick recommends” section of this newsletter (below), you should definitely subscribe to cafe lulu! my girlfriend isabella started this weekly newsletter to shout out cool restaurants (nyc), movies, music, recipes, hot goss, and more. isabella is the one that recommends me a lot of the things that i recommend to you guys, so if you’d like more of that kind of stuff written by a much better writer, take your ass over to cafe lulu!

donut friend
the west coast has the east coast beat in donuts, unfortunately. we have better pizza, bagels, and drinkable tap water, but they have the donut game down. my favorite spot we hit on the trip was donut friend in highland park in la. definitely the best, but some great contenders are california donuts, randy’s donuts, and this random donut place next to a laundromat in eugene oregon.
green knight
i finally got around to seeing green knight a few weeks ago. i remember how stoked i was to see a medieval film from a24 a few summers back, but it had a lukewarm reception with a lot of folks i know saying it just wasn’t that great, so i never got down with it. i really enjoyed it but honestly, i can see why people didn’t like it. it was quite obtuse, and at times frustrating to watch. but i really enjoyed the setting, characters, and world that was built out. i think the storytelling reminded me of dark souls in how little it gives you. you kind of have to decipher it for yourself. i enjoyed that aspect of it quite a bit. i’d recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet.
elden ring
well i’m back on my bullshit. the shadow of the erdtree dlc trailer just came out a few days ago, and i decided it would be fun to get back into elden ring and make a new character. last time i did a spellsword, and leaned heavily on magic and summons. this time i’m going for a strength/dex/faith build and focusing primarily on heavy weapons and parries. i’m only a few hours in but the game is so fun, and i’m remembering why i lost so many hours to it in 2022.
honorable mentions
i watched a lot of movies in february! assault on precinct 13, sheba baby, jodorowsky’s dune, and zone of interest, and bram stoker’s dracula were all standouts from the last couple weeks
i’ve been getting into bjork and ween lately. kind of a weird combo but i listened to a bunch of stuff on the road trip and have been fixating on these two. some other music recs from the road trip are labi siffre, robert lester folsom, viagra boys, d’angelo, and eyedress. check them out if you haven’t, and thanks for all the album recommendations you all sent me.
i finished reading killers of the flower moon. definitely recommend reading this if you haven’t. i haven’t seen the movie so not sure how it compares, but david grann does a really great job writing a historical nonfiction book in a way that reads like a narrative fiction. moving from beginning to end.
