Deep Valley Digest

Feb 2024 (travel edition)

Hello from the road!

This month, I’ve been on the road, traveling through the west coast. I’m writing this post from my phone, so it’ll be a little shorter and sparse. Gonna talk about a few art related things, and then do a little recap of my travels so far. Hope you enjoy!

new flash, booking for feb+march

I’ve been working on some new flash on the road! Got two spreads going right now but no way to scan em so I’ll probably be dropping both of them in the March newsletter.

I still have a handful of slots available in feb and March, so make sure to fill out a booking form (linked below) to grab a slot. I’m back to full time hours at shapeworld starting feb 15th, so I’ve got time for flash or custom

extremely exclusive tshirt

My tshirt collaboration with printsocial is still going on for a few more days. The preorders close feb 9th, so make sure to put an order in before then. There won’t be a chance to order one once the preorders close!

future travel dates

I’m going to be in London at the end of April. Still working out details but should have exact dates and a studio locked in by March. UK im commin baby just hang on a little longer!

travel log

Me and Isabella started our trip in Seattle on January 11th. We picked up a cool converted camper van that we rented from a company called Indie Campers and set off. The van is cool, it’s got a bed, a mini fridge, a two burner propane stove, sink, shower, toilet, table, and ample storage. We’ve been staying in it for the last 16 days (writing this post on the 27th of Jan) and it’s been pretty awesome.

We started in Seattle, where I got to tattoo with the lovely folks at Holy Vault. Afterwards, we hit the road and checked out Snoqualmie, where a bunch of twin peaks stuff was filmed, then camped in the Olympic peninsula for a little bit. We got to sleep right on the beach and explore some crazy rainforests.

Afterwards, we headed south to Cannon Beach in Oregon for a day before heading over to Portland, where I got to tattoo at the beautiful Third Space studio.

After Portland, we drove down to Redwoods in California and geeked over Big Tree. Then we did a crazy long drive out to Sacramento to crash for the night before getting up early and driving out to Yosemite.

Yosemite was an absolute dream. Probably one of the most beautiful and inspiring places I’ve ever been. We hiked to Wapama falls at the hatch-hatchy reservoir the first day, and did a hike up to Clark point in Yosemite valley the second day. We spent the night at a campsite in the valley. Sketched a bunch of fleeting views. i cannot wait to come back.

After Yosemite we drove out to the Bay Area. We’ve been staying in Berkeley, and using public transportation to get around and see the rest of the city. We did a bunch of fun stuff in San Francisco. I guested at Dollhouse in Berkeley yesterday, and will be tattooing at Tres Leches in Oakland today.

Tomorrow (Jan 28th) we head out for a 3 day drive down California route 1. We’re planning on stopping in Monterey, checking out Big Sur, and chilling on a beach somewhere.

After that we’re out to Joshua tree for a few nights, then on to San Diego for a day of tattooing. On feb 5th we drive up to LA, where we’ll swap the camper van for a sublet and a rental car. I’m tattooing two days at dirt LA and then we head back to nyc on the 9th of feb.

if you made it this far, thanks for reading! This trip has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I had a great time in every city I visited and am definitely planning on returning for some longer individual trips to each city.

thanks!
